Flower Maiden, Owl Woman

"He shall never have a wife born of woman"

Aranrhod's curse on her infant son, Lleu horrifies the royal family.  Only her brother, the druid Gwydion, dares to oppose her.  He creates a woman out of flowers, the perfect bride.  But Blodeuwedd, the flower maid, is not as anyone expected.  She is feral and fey belonging more to nature than to man.

Gwydion realises that he has lost control of the magic.  Since he cannot control her he resolves to destroy her.
